  • Overview

    Direct the organization’s recruitment and employment function; Establish employment policies and communicate policy, procedure and regulation to hiring management staff; Oversee team member onboarding process; Direct the development, management and maintenance of job descriptions to ensure that the elements achieve expected results; Oversee the administration of Family & Medical Leave, Worker’s compensation, etc.;

    Responsibilities

     

    • Design, select and implement training and development programs to meet business objectives, develop skills, and to communicate business values, philosophy and behavioral expectations throughout the organization;  
    • Oversee and manage the organization’s compensation and benefits policies in keeping with overall business philosophy, expectations and objectives; Oversee the management of the annual open enrollment process for health insurance and other benefits; Direct the solicitation for new and revised benefit programs and determine which combination of programs best implement organizational rewards strategy and philosophy, and meet business objectives; Direct the management, communication and maintenance of benefit systems;
    • Establish, implement, manage and maintain the organization’s performance management system; Direct management and staff training related to performance management and ensure that the system results in effectively measuring and improving employee job performance at all levels;
    • Develop, implement and direct process to ensure compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the human resource functions, and provide regulatory guidance to senior leadership and to management, to include Affirmative Action Plan, EEO—1, Vets, etc.; Maintain knowledge of current employment case, Federal and State law and update management policies and procedures to reflect current standards and requirements; Interpret company policies and disseminate policy-related information to managers and employees; Direct the preparation and maintenance of employee handbook;
    • Prepare and submit budget requirements for all areas of responsibility as well forecasts for budgeting of future rewards costs; Manage functional area in keeping with the budget plan, monitor expenditures against the plan, and investigate and report on variances; Participate in the development of justifications for capital acquisitions within related to human resources administration;
    • Participate with senior leadership in defining strategy and recommending, formulating and establishing company policies, plans, operating procedures, and goals relating to human resources impacting issues;
    • Monitor employee relations activities and morale; Provide counseling, coaching and guidance to management staff regarding policies, regulations, expected behaviors and other employment-related matters of significance to ensure productive and professional staff management;
    • Provide counseling, coaching and guidance to staff regarding policies, regulations and other team member related issues; manage documentation of personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, terminations or disciplinary measures; oversee development and maintenance of system-wide organizational charts;

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree required in Human Resources or similar field; Master’s Degree preferred;
    • 12+ years experience in management of Human Resources;
    • SPHR or PHR Certification;
    • Biotechnology or pharmaceutical experience highly preferred;
    • Small company (50-500 ‘ee) experience preferred
    • Competency in supervisory skills in motivating employees and meeting performance goals, preferably in a biotech environment;
    • Highly organized and very effective time management skills;
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) proficiency;
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; judgment and discretion applicable to the role;
    • Customer focused; team oriented;
